Dear Survey Voter,
As a candidate for the office of 2nd Vice
President of Toastmasters International for 2010-2011, I
thank you for taking a few moments to explore my
website.
A lifetime of passions for
leadership, teaching, problem-solving and doing positive
work for society made my decision to run for
International Director three years ago.

Serving on the board
demonstrated Toastmasters International’s need for
strong passionate communicators. There must be effective
leaders with excellent team player skills. Finally
individuals with extensive hands-on strategic planning
and policy development skills must be present. It is my
goal, if elected, to provide these attributes to the
team as a gift to show my gratitude for the treasures
Toastmasters has given me for the last twelve years.
Currently Toastmasters is
in a great position. The entire organization is under
the same structure. The future leaders will receive
solid, consistent training via web-based modules and
face-to-face presentations. We are coming off a year of
high district performance. Membership continues to grow.
We are financially stable.
Two years serving with the
board members as a whole, and participation in the
District Administration Committee and the Governance and
Policy Committee deliberations was exciting. Great minds
working together will find solutions to challenges.
Many of you share the
concern that some visiting guests do not see the quality
clubs we saw on our visit to our first home club.
Together we need to find a way to make sure club quality
shares the spotlight with our current highest
priorities.
Making evaluations become
as integral a part of the leadership track as they are
in the speaking track is another wonderful challenge.
Finally, how many of you share the optimism that our
development of district officer web-based training will
spawn effective powerful web-based club officer training
to enhance our current face-to-face club officer
training system?
